End of the World Train: Timetables, Tickets, Prices & Route Map

The End of the World Train is the southernmost railway on the planet. This scenic journey offers a unique way to explore the Tierra del Fuego National Park from Ushuaia, Argentina.

The train covers the final 7 km of the original route once used by prisoners of the former Ushuaia prison to transport timber. Now fully restored, it offers tourists a memorable experience in Patagonia.

End of the World Train Schedule

- 9:30 AM – Departure from End of the World Station

- 12:15 PM – Departure from End of the World Station

- 3:00 PM – Departure from End of the World Station

Duration of the Ride

One-way: 1 hour

Round trip: 1 hour and 45 minutes

End of the World Station Location

The station is located 8 km from Ushuaia on National Route 3, Km 3065. Accessible by taxi or remís (private car).

Train Route & Stops

End of the World Station

Puente Quemado: crosses the Pipo River with views of the old bridge.

La Macarena Station: 15-minute stop to enjoy forest, mountains, and a replica of a Yámana dwelling.

National Park Entrance: entrance to the protected area.

Tree Cemetery: remnants of forests cut by prisoners, plus peat bogs.

National Park Station: final stop. Return options by train, tour, or public transport.

The fare is the same for one-way and round trip.

Best option: Take the train to the park and return with a pre-booked excursion.

Explore on your own and return later by train (inform your guide in advance).

Public transport options are limited — check with the Ushuaia Tourist Office.
